The body of this dresser is constructed with finger joints that are pinned to ensure the joints last for generations. We also used the same finger joint technique on all the drawer components so that the back of the case is as beautiful as the front. On this original piece, the customer wanted to incorporate these old cast iron legs into the dresser so we suspended the case from the top and then designed these routed pulls/handles with a steel flat bar to go with the industrial legs. We believe in building things once and want to use the best joinery means to achieve that goal. If we are going to go through all the work to create these beautiful and precise joints why hide them. Using finger joint construction on this piece gives the subtle contrast of the end grain against the face grain of the walnut. Items are made to order can can take 12-14 weeks to ship currently.
